Toy Story 5 Teaser Sets The Beloved Duo Against a Tablet Computer
Exactly 30 anniversary after the first Toy Story film was released, establishing the animation giant as a major animation studio and bringing viewers to iconic characters like Woody (the actor) and Buzz Lightyear (the voice talent), who are now famous worldwide.
In 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, providing a glimpse into the plot but keeping fans curious how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Digital Device Frightens the Toys
The preview reveals Bonnie — who received the toy collection when he grew up — receiving a brand new toy, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. She acquires her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.
Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the characters seem to view it as a danger intending to supplant them, which it probably is.
The Cowboy's Comeback: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4
One thing the trailer doesn't touch on is what Woody is returned with his friends in Bonnie's room. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a new adventure with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), journeying with a fair and assisting giveaway items find good homes.
Surely, Pixar will address the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Witnessing him show up in the familiar setting unexpectedly is a little strange, though. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have come back with Woody. And what about Duke Caboom (the star)?
Continuity from the Last Installment
Fortunately, some elements are carrying over from the prior film. The final act the cowboy did before departing for his new life was pass his symbol of authority to Jessie (Joan Cusack), leaving her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser displays the insignia attached to her outfit.
Hopefully she is remains the key figure among the toys.
