According to new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a clemency request for review by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is working on the clemency petition. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, declared in a official statement that the prison’s warden was assisting the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for clemency.

Specific details of the “commutation application” remain unknown, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the warden has individually organized exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

The visits reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and potential for unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other inmates, Maxwell was provided directions about who she should tell her contacts to contact and how staff would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she “essentially used” the warden as her private aide.

The news release states that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and return them to the official to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Reported

Other privileges reportedly provided to Maxwell include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning the convict is not something he has thought about,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Recently, reports surfaced that she told close associates in electronic messages that she was more content at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

In August, she was moved from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most detainees are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, the congressman also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to the President, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to reject Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the document. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche attend a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

Raskin asked whether Trump had talked about a possible clemency for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to provide her with the move or special conditions in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any promises to Trump or his legal team.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court rejected an petition from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
